So I have a set of KE4 Max irons 5-GW with the shafts +1″. I had a thought about cutting down the 5 iron an inch and the 6 iron down half an inch to match the 7 iron shaft length(approx 38″). I’m hoping this could help my 5 and 6 be more reliable. What are your thoughts on doing a one length on the longer irons like this?

just thinking outloud…
reducing length may improve your contact.
might need to mess with the swing weight to get the feel you need.
reduced length could reduce your swing speed and you may find it difficult to get the height and distance you’re looking for.
I’ve lost a lot of distance with my 5 and 6 iron, and replaced them with hybrids.
could always mark the grips with tape or a rubber band and see how it works out before you start tearing off grips and cutting shafts.
If your in a cold climate, I would guess you’re getting bored :-)
