If you do nothing to the head weight, shaft manufacturers tell us, and our experience tells us, that the shaft dynamics do not change. The feel of the club will because the longer club will make the head feel heavier. If you try to reduce head weight to maintain a swing weight, the shaft will play stiffer. Just the opposite if you shorten a club. If you add head weight back to a club that is cut shorter than standard to try to get the swing weight back up, the it will play more flexible. Most people think if you make it longer (within reason) it will be more flexible and if you make it shorter (again, within a reasonable amount) it will be stiffer, but that is all driven by what is done to the head weight. Head weight stays the same, no dynamic playability difference in the shaft. Feel is different for sure, but not playability UNLESS you start to change the head weight.
