Not exactly sure what you’re asking, but you can build an iron set 1/2″ over standard using the SteelFiber FC115 shafts. If the 1/2″ over standard is what fits you, you can use that shaft. I am assuming when you say “1/2 inch longer” you are referring to 1/2 inch longer than standard. If you are meaning 1/2 inch longer than a club length that is already over standard length, it just depends on how long the total playing is. The taper tip lengths are discrete lengths and there are limits to how long you can make the clubs without having to use extensions. The parallel tip versions that are a 42″ blank that are tip and butt trimmed and allow for more length without having to extend.

Ken. I believe youre asking about all graphite shafts that a 1/2 inch longer installed. Most OEMs will install graphite shafts 1/2 inch longer. I believe they do this for swingweight purposes. I have a set in a medium grade graphite that are 1/2 longer.
When I do up a set in graphite I do not add the 1/2 inch, unless the person is taller. I’m 1/2 inch short with graphites and weight can be added to achieve the swingweight.
You can reference Britts answer. Weight can be added to achieve the swingweight.
