Hi everyone,

Looking for some reasoning Behind choosing where to start between the TS3 and the TS1IM.

On the Maltby website, the TS3 is described as a mid to high handicap designed club. The TS1IM is designed as a mid handicap iron.

I play between a five and seven handicap. Am I wrong to think the TS3 would be a good iron for me?

Would I hit it too high (I do hit the ball high already)?

is turf interaction going to be an issue?

any mid to low handicap players here who play the TS3? What am I missing?

Play from 4-6 handicap. Have use nearly every Maltby iron since 2002. Logic Pro, TE, MTF, MTE, KE-4 Tour, TS-1, TS-2, TS-1IM, Ts-4 and in the bag now– TS-3. They are very much a players club– as are all the TS series IMO.

I can hit any shot I have the talent to hit with TS-3. They really are a great club. Get one of each and try them is what I tell everyone

Probably should not have said the TS3 is for mid and high handicap players. Of course it is great for them, but it s a great club for any level of player. We have employees that are good players playing them and love them. If you like the looks and the specs meet your needs, no reason not to play them if you are a scratch player. Great club all around.

I played the TS3 all season and my index was between a 3.4 to 4.1. Previously I have played the TS1 and Titleist AP2 from 2008. The TS3 has been amazing, I have a slightly steep swing and the sole and bounce has protected me from digging and taking too deep a divot, especially during the wet spring and fall season in central ohio. I have not noticed a difference in peak height between the TS1 and TS3, I will mention that the TS1 has the FST PRo 125 cut to X-stiff and the TS3 I have TT S400 shafts. I really believe the TS3 is great for a low handicap player and offers a little forgiveness with the cavity back that any golfer can appreciate.
