I ran across something I’ve never seen before. I’m reshafting an older Taylor head. I noticed a short nut at the top of the adaptor. I unscrewed the nut. That loosens the head and the head simply screwed off. Craziest thing I’ve ever seen.
The player wants a shaft change so I’ll pop the adaptor off with some heat.
The Taylormade head will just spin on the end.
Anybody come across one of these?

Yes. Looks a bit like that. When they sold the club they must have sold as is. There’s also some kind of grease on the longer part of the adaptor. Hopefully I can get the thing off.
Problem is if I don’t want to use this convex adaptor, a regular adaptor from Callaway won’t work. The ID of the hosel of the driver is too big. Very strange set up. It’s not a drill through, no wrench is needed. I’ll post some pics.
