Hi.

I recently bought a set of the Yonex V-Mass Tour irons which were boxed with the heads and grips still in plastic. I’d owned a set a few years back and got on great with them but, to my disappointment the shafts (DG r300) felt a bit flimsy compared to what was on my previous set. Rather than offload, I’ve decided to reshaft them but, after hours of research online and several attempts to get a reply from Yonex themselves, I’m still none the wiser. Can anyone help, please?

Talked to Jim, our resident expert on all things old with regards to golf clubs, and he keyed in on the shafts to help with the determination. If the steps on the DG r300 shafts are 1 3/4″ apart, the shafts are taper tip. If the steps are 1 7/8″, then the shafts are parallel tip. The labels used to say R300 if they were tapered and R300U if they were unitized (parallel tip). However, you can’t always go by the label.
