My friend (plays the original P790s) keeps insisting that the TS1 irons are muscle back blades.
I say they are hollow body irons with polymer injection, so they are player distance irons, similar to his P790s.
Britt, are either of us right or are we both wrong?

We consider them a Players Blade with a hollow body, polymer injection technology. So, it is a high tech blade for sure. I guess you could call it a distance iron, but that is more determined by the loft than anything else. Lofts are stronger on the TaylorMade P790, so it would be a Players distance for sure due to the stronger lofts. The TS1 lofts are more modern lofts for blade irons now. Stronger than the old muscle backs, but not as strong as some of the “distance” irons you are seeing.
