Currently I roughly fit into a MPF shaft value of 3B2M, which results in a mid Ball flight. Could I gain more distance with a higher Ball flight, which would result in a 3B3M MPF shaft value?

If so, which shafts would you recommend, even if I stayed with the 3B2M shaft value?

I have a Maltby KE4 TC Pro IST 7 wood. I am considering adding a Maltby driver and fairway wood and TS3 irons.

Currently I play:

DRIVER (I hit a lot of fairways)

Mitsubishi C6, 50 series, R flex.

FAIRWAY WOODS

Mitsubishi C6, 60 series, R flex.

IRONS

Aerotech Steelfiber Fc70, F3-4.

FYI my wedges are good.

Might try the MPF Pro Series+ UL, which is light like the C6 your hitting and is a mid/high trajectory. If you want a little higher trajectory on the driver and fairways, then the MPF Pro Series+ UL, which are 3B2M in the R flex, could work for both. On the hybrid, I really like the Rapport Core Blue, or the Pro Series+ in the R flex. Both are 70 grams, so similar to the AeroTech irons (which I like as well) and both are a 3B2M but should provide a nice mid to mid/high trajectory. The loft of the hybrid and fairway woods is the major factor on trajectory, so I wouldn’t expect the shaft to make that much of a difference as long as the flex and weight are what works best for you.

Hard to say. Again, the loft is the major determining factor to launch and trajectory. The differences between a shaft designated as a Mid or Mid/High and a High trajectory are very small. You might have to go to a completely softer flex to see the shaft have any kind of noticeable difference in the trajectory. That being said, you just never know. Carry distance is based on your speed and the launch angle (and the ball spin) and if you feel with your speed you need to carry the ball farther, you should try a high trajectory shaft, more loft, more spin ball…all those things that tend to increase the air time. There is a fine line where if you launch it too high with too much spin you might actually loose distance. Just going to have to do some personal testing to know for sure.
