It is possible to order a 48 inches stick for a Big Bertha Alpha Driver?
Thank you !
If you’re trying to make a 48″ in driver, the 46″ shaft is long enough to do it. Remember that the shaft doesn’t go all the way to the ground, the adapter will plug into the hosel which adds the extra length.
If you want to make the shaft the same flex as if it were being installed into a driver without the adjustable tip, you need to tip trim the shaft. For example, I went from an old Adams 430Q to an 816 Alpha driver. To make the shaft flex the same I had to tip trim the shaft 3/4 inch (same shaft model). By doing that the graphics are exactly the same distance from the floor/ground. I can put the two clubs side by side and the yellow stripes on the old Penley shafts are at exactly the same spot. Since the Callaway driver works well, I can now remove the shaft from the Adams head and have it for a club I make for somebody else.
The way to measure how much tip trimming is needed, either insert the shaft into a regular driver head without the tip assembly, measure where a particular graphic is above the floor, then, with the tip in the callaway head (not epoxied yet) measure how far the same graphic is from the floor. The difference in measurements is how much you should tip the shaft.
