What is the suggested swingweight of a chipper/utility club like the Maltby Trouble Out C-hybrid, for a woman? More like a putter, or an iron?
Bob
Bob, I think it’s designed to be more like a putter because of the much higher lie angle, 70 degrees, and because of its weight, 345 grams. I teach using it like a putter – grip, set up and even stroke like a putter for chipping. There are other ways, but my golfers are knocking ’em close this way! When it’s needed as a hybrid, just grip it normally and go for it! Because it’s so heavy, I recommend slowing down the swing when using it that way.
Hope this helps. Michael
