Of course my opinion will seem biased since the models are our models, but one thing to consider is the loft on the irons your choose. The PXG irons are very strong lofted, with the 6 iron having 24 degrees of loft and the 7 iron 28 degrees. The DBM 6 iron has 30 degrees and the TE has 31 degrees. The STi2 #6 iron has 28.5 degrees. So all of our models that you listed are a club to a club and half weaker in loft. Companies like PXG will often make irons extremely strong so that they appear to be better in producing distance. It’s just because of the loft, nothing that is technically better. We have some models that are at 27 to 26 degrees of loft on a #6, but we have not gone stronger than that. So keep that in mind.
Any of the models could work if you can get passed hitting them shorter due to the loft differences. We designed all three to be in the Super Game Improvement category of the Maltby Playability Factor and and they are all very stable, solid feeling irons. Of course, you have to have the proper fit with any iron for it to perform it’s best for your game. As far as the couple of s_ _ _ _ _ _ shots (sorry, I can’t even say the word), that has nothing to do with the iron head design. Hard to hear sometime, but that is all on the player.
If you want to consider a couple of models that have closer loft specs, but still not as strong as the PXG, you might look at the TS2 or TS1. More modern loft progressions than the TE or DBM. Also our newest KE4 MAX iron, which is an Ultra Game Improvement design and the strongest lofted iron we have. It’s definitely a different look, not a traditional blade like the DBM or TE, but the performance and feedback has been fantastic since it came out. Might take trying a few more test clubs to know what meets the cosmetic look you want and provides the feel and ball flight you are looking for.

I appreciate the response. I agree the shanks are all me. I didn’t see the benefit of strong lofts. Like many I agree we should all put the lofts on the clubs and not the numbers. I don’t care so much how long my 7 goes I just want to know what my 160 yard clubs is.
I think I will take your advice and try another test club either the ts2 or Kemax
