First, we can install the TM adaptor on the shaft before shipping. TaylorMade has not changed the adaptor on their drivers for years, so we have their universal adaptor. We can install the adaptor and send the shaft uncut and you can cut to length and install the grip. That is the best way to insure you get the right length for you. We can cut to length and install a grip, but without the head we can’t be precise on the length. Every driver head has a little bit different distance from the bottom of the bore to the groundline, and since that is an older and slightly smaller head, we could only estimate.
As far as a 65 gram replacement, I don’t have any data on that specific Fujikura shaft, so I can’t compare profiles. However, there are a lot of options in the 60+ gram range to consider. I would look at the trajectory profile you’re looking for (low, mid, high, etc.), and the price range. Almost every manufacturer has great 60+ gram options. Prices can vary from $80.00 and below to the $350.00 and above. Keep in mind the more you spend does not always mean better performance. If you come up with a few on our website you are considering, list them and I can possibly give you some comparison information.
