Although my driver swing speed of 88 indicates I should play a regular flex, I get better results with a stiffer shaft. Is there a lighter weight shaft in a regular or a stiff flex that plays closer to a firm flex?
I always like to take the shaft a golfer likes and hits well and frequency test it. So many times a shaft label does not accurately indicate its true flex. Many times! I’ve had some shafts test out as much as 2 full flexes differently! So if a golfer hits a particular shaft well, I test it to find out what we really have there. Then before I install a new shaft in his club, I’ll test it as well to make sure it’s the same or very close. By the way, a simple way to get an in between shaft flex, like firm, is by cutting about 1/2” more off the tip, depending on the shaft, of a regular flex shaft. Hope this is helpful. Michael
