Hello,
I know that graphite iron shafts are often cut a little longer to maintain swing weight, like the Pro Series + shafts I have in my TS3s.
While reading about the Fujikura Pro shafts, it appears that the description says they can be cut at standard steel length and will have the same swing weight as steel.
Am I reading that correctly? If so, are there other graphite iron shafts that have the same feature??
Thanks!
Thank you. So essentially, if I have a set of irons with say, 95g steel shafts, and I replace them with 95g graphite shafts cut at the same length – they will maintain the same swing weight?
I know it sounds like an obvious answer, but I just wanted to make sure before I did it and end up throwing the balance/feel off.
Yes, will be the same swing weight 95% of the time. Now, some shaft are heavier at the butt, or tip, than others.. but those weight variances will be minimal and rarely enough difference to change a full swing weight.
that use to be more true 10+ years ago…. today we have steel shafts that can weigh far less than some graphites. plus we have ‘players distance’ irons with increased shaft lengths. Plus todays iron head sets are manufactured in various weights to fit various criteria. Some make the same heads in 2 different weights. basically however it all boils down to headweight, shaft weight & length.
