We are starting to see the supply of grips improve, with shipments arriving, or on the way. Less variety (colors, sizes) will be most likely be the norm for most of 2022. Capacity of the manufacturers is strained as the OEM’s are demanding large volumes, as are we, the retailers, etc. The big grip companies are allocating, so we will get what we can get. Whether it is our fair share or not remains to be seen. I do think by March/April (could be sooner) we will be in a better position on the core items like standard size GP Tour Velvets, Lamkin Crosslines, etc. Of course, it is still a very fluid situation with the issues of the day, and things could change. We are doing everything we can to secure product for The Golfworks and our customers.
As far as pricing, I have no idea. I would like to think the prices would adjust down some, but honestly don’t see it happening. Costs have gone up due to a variety of reasons. It will depend on the economics related to freight costs, materials costs, labor costs, capacity, etc. etc. and if anything changes in those areas that would be a catalyst for price reductions. Probably won’t know until 2023, at least.
