Two pieces of tape will weigh approximately 4.2 grams. So if my calculations are correct there will be approximately a 9 gram difference in the weight on the grip end if you install the midsize with no tape vs. the 50 gram grip with 2 pieces of tape. 9 grams on the grip end will be 2.25 swing weight points, meaning the swing weight of the club will be approximately 2.25 swing weight points lighter. One important note that most people do not realize: manufacturers calculate grip sizes accounting for the tape thickness. So if you install a grip with no tape vs 2 wraps of tape, the grip size will be approximately .028″ smaller (.014″ thickness per piece of our two sided tape) without the tape, based on the thickness of our two sided tape. So as an example, if a mid size grip is 3/64″ oversize (.945″ vs standard being .900), without one wrap of tape (.014″) it’s actual playing size would be .931″. Still considered midsize, but not as big as it would be with the tape.
