Soooo, I’ve had some recent grips failing. I’m using 2 inch wide normal two sided tape, and mineral spirits as solvent. If I add a little pressure and twist I can move the entire grip, to the point that I can rotate the entire grip off the shaft. The tape stays in the grip and there is a goopy, sticky mess left on the shaft that I remove with acetone. Any thoughts? Usually, as always, when I pull a grip the tape is so attached the shaft it is a B to remove, but not here. When I pull the tape from the shaft it is kind of “wet” like I just added the solvent. I’ve never had this happen with mineral spirits, but can’t figure it out. All three have been GP cp2 grips.
Will have to look into it and see. The mineral spirits seems more oily to the touch than normal too. Thanks
