With all the newer iron lofts being lower, which creates a 44 degree “PW”, have we finally reached the point where they will no longer go even lower in loft? Or is there a chance it will keep going into 42-40* “pitching wedges” ? Speaking only from the perspective of the Golfworks and your design philosophy
Obviously not hit the limit yet! A Wedge used to be about 50*, the stupidity of the current trend is that the Titleist now has 3 Wedges just to reach 50*. So not only do they need Gap Wedge, now there is a Gap Gap wedge. If he then has a SW and LW thats 5 wedges.
Wont be long before the average golfer has a couple hybrids, a 9 Iron and 6 wedges.
Titleist has come up with the marvelous idea of calling the wedges W1 W2. (3, 4, 5 …). Well at least the 1 iron is making a comeback.
