I am looking into trying a low torque high launch shaft but I don’t want to pay the $300-$400 that it costs for the Ventus Red or Tour AD IZ.
I found some project x riptide Mx proto (the red one) and specs seem similar and they are priced really well. Any insight as to a comparison between these in terms of bend profile, weighting, and launch characteristics?

Unfortunately we don’t have the Project X Riptide MX proto specs or profile data in our database. We never carried that particular shaft. You might look at the Rapport Core Blue or the new MPF Pro Series+ DR shafts. Not quite as low a torques, but pretty low compared to others. Listed trajectories depend on flex and weight, so you might find a mid or mid/high that could work. We developed both of these products and I believe the performance for the price is as good as anything available. In fact, not so sure the performance isn’t as good as or better than some of the higher priced offerings.

Thanks Britt. I’ve been using the old MPF stiff but tipped half and inch in the ke4 tc max set to 11 degrees. I struggle to launch the ball we’re talking 3-5 degrees. I have a very strong left hand grip that I’m unwilling to change, that I’ve tried…… I’m in a jumbomax medium to help that grip a little and it has. I’ve got speed and control a 115+ driver swing speed and just want to see if I can maximize my launch through a shaft. I’ve contemplated going 12 degrees callaway head taken to 14 since callaway adapters have better flatter lie settings. I’ll give the new mpf shaft and see. Probably will try the callaway option, I love my ke4 tc max though.
