How do I locate where the exact kick point is
Kick point and/or bend point are defined: The point of maximum bending on a shaft as measured by a compression test of the shaft on both the tip and butt ends. Bend point terminology usually refers to a shaft as tip soft, tip stiff, tip medium, butt soft or butt stiff.
So, by this definition, you would need to be able to compress the shaft under a load from both ends and measure the point of maximum deflection. Some definitions differentiate bend point from kick point by saying “bend” point is actually measured to the max deflection point when the shaft is only loaded on the tip end, like loading that occurs on a deflection board. Others do not differentiate. Most manufacturers will use the compression test.
