I stumbled on this page https://www.golfworks.com/choosing-the-best-shaft-for-your-game/a/1650/ which seems like a great resource to gauge overall shaft stiffness. It doesn’t, however, outline how this ranking is achieved. Really just curious if it’s completely standardized (All variables are the same in measuring) or not so I can expect what I’m reading to hold true (The further down I move down the list the more overall stiff the shaft?)

*Edit, I’ve since figured out that the shafts are only sorted alphabetically once grouped by MPF and the MPF’s are sorted soft to stiff, not the shafts within the group though.

I did create the spreadsheet as an easy reference of the basic specifications and the MPF rating. The MPF rating is based on the parameters we list (the four basic questions), but the data we collect to help us put the shafts in those categories is a little more involved. The spreadsheet can be sorted any way you want it. It appears first sorted by the MPF and then alphabetical within each MPF number. The MPF for shafts is really more of an eliminator than a determinator when it comes to shaft choices, but definitely can help yo narrow down the choices. Once you have determined the MPF rating for you, you then must sort through the weights, pricing, etc. to hopefully help you dial in the best choices to consider.
