So I’m going to try and use a steel shaft in my hybrids (as well as the tape option with my graphite shafts) and there’s one thing i can’t figure out.

When tip trimming the steel shaft, do you trim to the equivalent lofted iron or to an equivalent head weight iron?

If loft, they are similar to a 3 and 4 iron so I would just tip trim to those.  If it’s based on the head weight, then both hybrid heads are lighter than most 3 irons so I wouldn’t need to do anything to the tip.

Thanks for any info you can provide.  Most seem to discuss about how to trim to overall length but not the tip trimming part.
