I am trying to add distance to my drive. I was hoping you may have a shaft for my driver that would have a lot of tip flexibility that I could gain distance.
Although you may need tip flexibility to help get the ball launched to the best trajectory for your clubhead speed, it is not a major factory in increasing distance. Without seeing you I could not get to the level of detail that would include the tip flex characteristics of the shaft. That being said it is important to understand that the overall weight of the shaft, the overall flex of the shaft, combined with the right loft for your clubhead speed are the factors you have to dial in to maximize distance. Basically, if distance is what you’re after, you must play the lightest, longest length driver that you can control, that has the proper loft for your clubhead speed, allowing you to launch the ball to it’s optimum trajectory. The best way to control the overall weight of the club is through the weight of the shaft and, to a lesser degree, the weight of the grip. I would look at shafts in your flex range in the 55 gram range or lighter weight. All the shafts in our catalog and online show the type of trajectory the shaft is designed to produce. Generally, if it is a high trajectory shaft, it will have a low bend point and be more tip flexible. In summary, based on the trajectory you need and the flex that fits our swing speed, look for the lightest shaft possible if you want to increase your chances of increased distance.
