Hi Britt, relating to TS1-IM KK Pam, can you advise the relative differences in tip/mid/butt flex (and anything else you think relevant) between the KK’s, the Recoil 95’s, and the MMT 80’s? Trying to make a decision and am stuck. Thank you.

The firmness factor is not just a product of the torsional stiffness. Lower torque can make a shaft feel stiffer but it is just a measurement of the rotational stiffness with a load applied. The Dart is firmer because it’s overall profile is firmer based on our evaluation and the measuring we do to all the shafts in our data base. My bet is that the Dart would have a lower trajectory simply because of the overall firmness of the shaft. How much lower is hard to say and can vary from player to player.

I am assuming S flex since you mentioned the MMT 80’s and that is only an S flex. The UST 95 were discontinued by UST after 2023. They basically replaced them with the Recoil DART 90 and 105. The Recoil 95 or DART 90 are definitley the firmest of the three you listed. Are also the heaviest, so they would play heavier and stiffer. the MMT’s are are actually the softest of the three S flexes, but it is 86 grams, so heavier than the KK. Both the KK and the MMT 80 shafts are considered mid trajectory shafts and even though the MMT has a slightly softer profile, it’s not by much and I am OK with them both being considered a mid trajectory. I do think the KK would feel slightly firmer, but might be difficult to tell with the variance in weight between the two. Basically, with the shafts you listed, the weight is a big difference and will affect how they feel. UST would only be the choice if you like that weight and want the firmer feel. the other two comes down to the weight difference and whether or not you want a softer feel or firmer feel. Slightly softer would be the MMT, but also it is slightly heavier. Slightly firmer but also lighter would be the KK.
Not sure if this helps, but hopefully gives you some insight.

Very helpful!
Will Dart 90 have lower trajectory due to greater firmness and/or greater listed torque?
(Is the firmness assessment just a product of the torque value?)
Weight: Dart 90 > MMT80 >> KK
Firmness: Dart 90 >> KK > MMT80
Trajectory: Dart 90 ?? KK > MMT80
