I’m having a little trouble with the traditional hybrids so I’m going to give the HDI a whirl. They look terrific and being adjustable it makes a big difference. Teaming that up with the AXE hybrid shaft. My key is to make these hybrids in the standard 5 iron length, rather than the longer hybrid. I have a feeling these are solid performers. Any thoughts from makers.

This clubhead is the real deal. Fun and easy to hit. I was able to order the head 2 degrees flat. Initially I used an axe hybrid shaft (red one) and I found it a little soft. Then I tested in the AXE tour shaft and it played much better. The 6 gram installed weight is too light, so I’ll be moving to the 8 gram or even the 10. I’m using some lead tape for the time being. The profile of the head is by far smaller than a normal hybrid. I set this up 1/2 inch longer than the normal 5 iron length and I’m able to hit it 180 yards. I was able to fade and draw with no problem. The feel is solid. Heating the head for removing was very easy and heat did not harm the hosel. I’ll be ordering the 4 as well. I love this head. Shaft recommendations – play a stout shaft. AXE tour, or the new Xtour shaft.
