Apologies for the no response. The construction of the two is the same, as are the materials. We have found the combination of materials we use in the TC and the TC MAX provide the sound and optimum ball speeds / performance we were looking for. The sound is an improvement, in my opinion, over the STA-2 that you have, although I didn’t find that one quite like a bell as you describe. It was louder though, than the TC or the TC MAX. The TC is 450cc which is ever so slightly smaller than the MAX at 460cc, but the MAX will look larger due to the stretched crown design vs the TC which has a more sloped crown. The MAX has a slightly higher MOI which could translate into more forgiveness, but the difference is slight. As far as spin rats, since both are adjustable, spin rate performance can vary from setting to setting, player to player, etc. In our testing at the standard settings, the MAX provided slightly more spin and slightly higher trajectory.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply.
You have two Pack deals offered for the TC MAX — one with Malby UL shaft and one with Kuro Kage HBP.
Which set up do you think would result in higher club head speed and distance for a 66 year old with 81-84 mph driver club head speed?
I presume to achieve a D2 swing weight with HBP shaft one would need to add significant weight to the head.
So for a club length of 45.5″, to achieve a D2 swing weight, what screw in weight would be required in the MAX head for the 57 gram KK HBP compared to the M 47 gram MPF Pro UL?
