I struggle with long approach shots because it is difficult for me to hit fairways and hybrids. What I am looking for is something I can feel confident with at the top of my bag.
Question: Which would be considered easier to hit – the KE4 TC Tour 4 wood or the 4 Hybrid? My concern is just being able to hit from the deck and get a mid to high ball flight. Distance right now is secondary to ease of use and forgiveness.
Fairway wood and Hybrid head designs typically will be easier to hit. Lower profiles and lower and more rearward center of gravity’s make them easier to get the ball airborne. There is a trade-off when considering either. Fairway wood head is generally more forgiving, but is played at a longer playing length which for some can be harder to hit. Hybrid heads, although still highly forgiving, maybe a little less forgiving than fairway woods, but are typically played at shorter lengths than fairway woods, making them easier to hit solid. You should first consider what distance you need to cover. If you can cover it with a hybrid at a shorter length, that is the one you should probably try first. If not, you will most likely need a fairway wood.

I typically have my clubs cut 1/4″ shorter than standard. Would it maybe make sense to go a bit shorter with the 4 wood, like 1/2″ or even 1″?
