Hello, I have been looking around recently for a forged iron that has the following:
A thin top profile that’s usually seen with forged muscle backs.
A very long blade length (to help catch off center hits near the heel and toe).
Full face grooves (so if a shot is hit off the heel or toe it’s still very functional).
My handicap fluctuates between 4 to 6 and on good days I can play around par but on my bad days I really fight the shanks (my miss is almost always heel / toe and I don’t struggle much with fat / thin). I currently play Titleist 710 MBs which I think visually / subconsciously make me bias my hits toward the heel given the sweet spot and shorter blade length. I love the look of the thin profile of a forged iron but I would love to also see a longer blade and full grooves just to visually feel more confident that I can miss toe side (and hopefully avoid shank probability).
I also don’t like to see any offset which is common with long irons (for game improvement type irons), since I find the offset makes it harder to aim.
I am hoping there may be a few other golfers like me out there, is this type of an iron head design something we could manufacture in the future or is there anything similar to what I’m wanting?
Thanks,
Jared
Thanks, it sounds like the TS4 does have a longer blade length and that club face really looks great based on the website pictures.
I figured the full face grooves was going to be a stretch to ask for but worth a shot. Just with iron designs in general I’ve always wondered why not make the whole iron face fully playable for spin, but I also get that others may not like that look since it’s not traditional looking.
