I’m looking to order my first set of Maltbys. Loving the look of the TE+ irons, looking to go with a lighter extra stiff shaft than I typically use (TT x100 or Project X IO, depending on what’s working). I swing it pretty quick at 90-95mph with a 6i, but am looking for something that doesn’t feel as heavy while holding up to a med/fast tempo and higher speed. Thanks!

Check Britt’s answers to the questions on the Paderson Kinetixx shaft in X flex and the thread about the Pro Series shafts. Basically, he said that the current Pro Series S flex is the same as the new XS. From my own experience, I can tell you that it is very stout. Don’t let the S designation fool you. I am currently fitting a golfer with your swing speeds and it looks like the current Pro Series S flex will work well for him.

The maltby is a great choice. The aldila NV would also be a good choice.

Worried about it not being quite stiff enough (S is max stiffness offered on GolfWorks), but reviews seem to indicate that dispersion doesn’t change much going down in stiffness. Any experience with the NV?

Yes I’ve hit both the NV85 and NV95. The NV95 would be plenty stiff for most people. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen with Jim or Britt post that the NV and old MPF were very similar in profile.

sounds like you should be trying the updated maltby graphite iron shafts.
MPF Pro+ (X)…. they are on the site but not available for purchase yet.
I’ll be trying em out in the TS4, seeing how they stack up to my TS4/Recoil Proto125s.
