Any of you know if these have been prone to breaking?
I used the Maltby KE4 TC Driver for about two years and the adapter broke. I bought the club pak and had Golfworks assemble for me. So customer service said I could return it. I have some extra adapters. I noticed they have little grooves inside where you insert the shaft. I suppose this is so the epoxy has something to grab onto. Also, I presume like everything else, when applying epoxy you would put epoxy on the shaft, and also into the adapter. Of course I’d expect the workers doing the assembly would know that.
I think this is a fantastic driver, and the maltby DR shaft is excellent too. A couple guys on the range last night were talking about some new Titleist driver, $650. Some people need a hole to throw money into. I’ll take my KE4 TC against any brand at any price.
First generation of that adapter sleeve had issues (the sleeve that had the separate ferrule). The adapter cog that spins would actually break away or separate from the rest of the adapter.
Now that it’s redesigned all in one piece it seems to be very reliable now.
