I am currently using the M-Series+ wedges and before that Tricept, and CER. Currently looking at the TSW wedges for the next phase of my journey. I have just noticed that the M-Series+ (and the Tricept) are 8-10grams heavier than the TSW. This is covered in the M-Series description :

Slightly heavier head weights provide great feel for the shorter recommended playing lengths

The heavier head weights seem like a great idea, so why the lighter weights in the other models? If I was going to hazard a guess it would seem that any wedges you make with the ‘slider’ design are heavier, the rest are not.

We went back to more traditional weights on the TSW, feeling like we needed to have that weight option. The M-Series + wedges weights were a little heavy for some. Personally I like the slightly heavier weights, but the 295-300 gram range is where we settled on the TSW’s. I like to stay around 300 grams on 56 and higher lofts. Lower lofts might be a few grams lighter. Wider sole designs like the Gliders do tend to be slightly heavier. Ralph found years ago when testing that players that are short game challenged around the greens performed better with wedges that had the wider soles AND heavier weights. The new M-Series MAX Wedges we are working are designed off the same profile and structure as the M-Series + and will have similar weights to the original M-Series + wedges.

Thanks Britt – that makes sense. Personally i like the sound of that M Series Max head for a ~60 lob wedge, but the normal soles for normal wedges. cheers.
We are excited abut the Max Wedges that are coming. Other features include grooves all the way to the toe, CNC milled grooves AND sole, and weight adjustable. We will have the .090 sole width options and the 1.05 sole width options with the same loft options in those sole widths as the original M-Series +.
