I was at Golf Galaxy today looking at the new Hi Toe Wedges from Taylormade and they reminded me a lot of my Max Milled 60 I have. I believe the Max Milled Wedge has a bit larger club head, but so does the TM Hi Toe.
Is this a fair comparison and are they designed to accomplish roughly the same objectives?
I can’t really speak to the Taylor Made wedges, although I have seen them. I know ours perform as advertised and knowing the TM guys, theirs will too. I liked the look of them, but without me actually hitting them next to the MAX on different surfaces, grass, sand, etc. I couldn’t really give you a detailed and honest comparison. I think the TM have a little more of a relief grind on them than our MAX, which could be good for some players, but not so good for others. Our MAX have more of a consistent sole grind, especially on the wider sole version. Both the 1.05 and the .090 soles on our MAX were modeled off of our best selling wedges the M-Series. They are, and were, designed to work for a broad range of players. Below is a link to more detail on our MAX Wedges.
