So I just got my 54 and 58 degree wedges in today and was just giving them the soft carpet swings like everyone does, lol. My question is they seem like they would be hard to use on a flop shot, or is that just me over thinking them?
You over thinking a bit I think. Many ways to hit a flop shot and how you execute depends on a lot of things. Turf conditions, your technique and of course the sole width and bounce of the wedge you have. Wider soles and more bounce can make it more difficult to open the face on firm, tight turf, so just be aware of that. Other than that, I would wait to pass judgement until I got out and hit some real shots off of real turf.
