when measuring effective bounce with either MA31012 or GW1035, do you arrive at a specific number as you do with a typical bounce measurement (such as 12*)?

Section 12 in Ralph’s book “Golf Club Fitting & Performance: The Principles, Procedures and Playability Factors” explains Effective Bounce. Specifically, the graphics and explanation on pages 486-504 show how Ralph (and we) define it. It is not a degree measurement. Basically it is a square inch measurement and the larger the dimension, the greater the effective bounce is, and the more forgiving or playable the wedge should be. The formula for calculating the number using the gauges is on those pages. If you don’t have the book, I will see if I can get those pages posted. Not really sure why they haven’t been already.

Thanks Britt, I’ll look it up this afternoon.
