Hello Britt just want to know will the new blades coming out later this year or early next year will they be more forgiving then the mmb-17 ?
I’m going to piggy back off this topic. Are the new blades going to be the same size or smaller? If I could change anything on the MMB-17 heads it would be a little less offset and a little thinner topline. They are a fairly long blade compared to any other similar iron on the market but I’m assuming you have to maintain a certain blade size in order to maintain reasonable COG numbers. thx
The MMB-17 have an MPF of 714 points and our goal with the new non-cavity forged iron is to try and get it to the Super Game Improvement category as well. I can not tell you at this point exactly what it will be. Initial prototype was in the mid 600’s for MPF. We adjusted the design slightly to lower the actual vertical cg and we are waiting on the next prototype. I believe it should move the MPF up 50 to 75 points, which would make it in the low 700’s in MPF. We will let you know when we get the new version.

Top line is similar, offset is very slightly less in the long irons (hardly noticeable), and the blade length will be very close to the same. You are correct that to maintain more stability and thus higher playability, the blade length has to be a certain minimum length. Based on the playability of some of the other “modern” blade designs we have seen, shortening blade length would not be something we would do.
