Hi,
Huge fan of your measurements and collection of irons stats over the years.
When available, could you please measure the new PING irons coming out in July?
Thanks, much appreciated!
We received the new GMax and the I E1 Ping irons. I did the preliminary measurements and the GMAX came out 941 points (Ultra Game Improvement category) and the I E1 came out 570 points (Game Improvement category). These are just preliminary numbers, but should be close to the final. I hope to have the final numbers done this week.

Thanks, much appreciated!
The preliminary numbers on the Ping I E1 iron are .832 vertical cg, C-Dim 1.357, RCOG .463, MOI 14.2650.

Thanks very much for those numbers Britt! Amazing how the S55 is still rated higher on the MPF than these.
Looks like the C-Dim and MOI numbers are quite good (better than my current i5 irons), but the VCOG number is still quite high. I’m presuming these irons might punish thin hits?
Cheers!
When comparing the I E1 at 570 points to the S55 at 594 points, realize that that is very little difference and insignificant in terms of being able to tell a difference. Ralph will tell you that for most players it might be difficult to actually tell difference in clubs with a 100 to 150 point spread. You can look at the individual numbers and see where the slight differnces are, like the vertical cg. The .025 higher actual vertical cg on the I E1 does not necessarily make it more likely to hit thin shots. Hitting it thin is a swing problem. The slightly higher cg simply means that that there is less margin for driving the cg under the balls cg, which is critical for solid shots. Still, not much difference in terms of palaybility.

Thanks for that Britt. Good info as always.
Hi Britt,
Just curious if you have any preliminary numbers for the Ping iE1 irons.
Thanks!
