Very simple really. The MPF is all about the mass and dimensional characteristics of the design. Doesn’t mater what they say it is or market it as, it’s what the measurements of say. The horizontal cg, the actual vertical cg, the rearward cg and the MOI are the key factors in determining how stable, and ultimately how playable and forgiving a design may be. It’s not our opinion, it’s the facts of these key measurements that determine what the rating will be. What really hurt the rating of the Apex Pro 24 was the C-Dimension (horizontal cg location) and especially the actual vertical cg, which was .901″. We woudl not consider that a positive for playability. While the others had similar C-Dimensions, the basic vertical cg locations were much lower, which results in a higher MPF rating. None of them were rated that high and it is mainly due to the short blade length and short C-dimension, which is the horizontal cg location measured from the hosel centerline from the ground line to where the cg is actually in the design. On all three models the horizontal cg was heel side of the face center.

oh wow thanks for the thorough explanation!
