Hey Britt,
I’m seeing a couple new iron shafts on the website, the Maltby MPF Pro Series + and the MPF Maxflex. I’m guessing the overall profiles are similar to what they replace, but looks like more weight and flex updates in the Pro Series +. Also assuming the Maxflex is the same as the M890 Launchtec it replaced, just a cosmetic update?
Can you provide a flex comparison of the following or at least give an overview of the changes in the new Pro Series + iron shafts?:
How does the new MPF Pro Series + R and A flex compare to the previous version R and A flex?
How does the MPF Maxflex R flex compare to the new MPF Pro Series + R and A flex?
I play both the previous versions, the MPF Pro iron in A flex shaft in hybrids and the M890 LaunchTech R flex my irons.
Considering going with the Pro Series + in R flex in both irons and hybrids if the new Pro Series + is a tad softer feel than the previous version..
Any advice comparisons appreciated.
Thanks Britt, exactly what I was looking for.
You are right, the M890 is a great shaft. I’m not the fastest swinger anymore (driver 92-95 now-days) but have decent tempo, and tried an R flex M890 shaft as more of an experiment in the super light weight category. Turns out I really liked the feel, and put them in all my irons.. only down side, was no Stiff flex available in the M890s, so couldn’t “tiger step” my wedges…
I’ll have to give the new Pro Series + a try. I’d like to be able to play the same shaft/flex in my hybrids (which I use as direct iron replacements), irons, and wedges.. going R flex hybrids/irons, then stiff with an 8i/9i/PW tip trim in the gap through lob wedges..
Thanks again, and thanks for the new 6 hybrid in the TC Pro too!
