. . . looking for help with a Nippon NS Pro pull from a Titleist 822 iron . . shaft is sheared at top of hosel . . this alloy shaft will not tap with conventional easy out and will not drill with bits for steel .
Can’t say specifically that we have a situation like the one you described with the Nippon shaft, but we have never met a broken shaft tip in an hosel we couldn’t get out. If it comes up again, you can always send it to us and we will take a crack at it. We love a challenge.
I have some easy out style tools that are made of tool steel but they are not cheap. Neither is high quality drill bits that you still might burn through trying to get that out. It should be a lot cheaper and easier to source an eBay head.
Thanks Popeye . . . a high grade easy out was one of my guesses and I will have to investigate . . would have to be a specific size not too small or too big . . . . this was the first time I had to bail on a customer because I did not have the knowledge or the tooling but now I know . . . beware space-age alloy shafts
