It appears most of the premium paks are no longer available on the web site, for irons what is left is the Score shaft and Kuro Kage graphite for example.
Are the options to either buy the standard option or go through the custom shop? One advantage of the paks previously was a volume discount by buying 8 clubs. The custom shop appears to be strictly a charge per club regardless if you buy 1 or 8 clubs.

After discussing here and based on some of the comments here in the forum, what we would like to do is make the Premium Paks available again, but you have to call in to order them. All of the codes are still active, they just won’t appear on the website. The pricing will be the same as they were in 2019. The exception will be that there is no free assembly on the Premium Paks. $10.00 assembly charge for individual clubs and on sets of 8 clubs, $5.00 per club or $40.00 per set. This allows the club builders in the crowd to still get the premium product at the Pak pricing. For those that do not want to build the clubs but want the pre-selected components that are in the Premium Paks, the base assembly charge will apply.
This may or may not be a permanent thing, but for the time being, I hope it eases some of the concerns that have been expressed.

Britt, I have bought my set of DBMs Premium Pak few weeks ago and to tell you the truth, the solid selection of the Paks and the availability of GW to accommodate a change in grip/shaft was a real added value. It gave me the feeling that the customer is the focus and everything was made to provide the best customer experience possible and that I had “infinite” options for my decision making. I remember that I have spent weeks in deciding the best shaft and grip and it was well spent time.
The assembly included in the price is a good plus, but would’t mind to pay an extra fee for that, although 10% looks a bit steep.
The thing is that the new scheme is shading the magic of buying a fantastic quality product, feeling you get it for an amazing price. This was a huge part of my purchasing experience. Remarkable note also to the customer service guys I worked with for my order.
I cannot understand why premium paks wouldn’t appear but will still exist, this would be against the general consumer and will be beneficial to informed consumers only and this would not help GW business, in my opinion.
Wouldn’t be easier to keep the premium paks and add an assembly fee? Still a little loss in the magic factor, but the customer will be the king again.
Just my humbled opinion as an happy customer that have had the luck to came across GW.
I have been toying around with the custom shop and I have noticed that only the .370 taper tip option is available, while for the shaft I have chosen (KBS Tour) I have opted for the .355 as it was 10g lighter in the regular option. This just to say that there is still margin of improvement for the custom shop tool. Moreover, I would pay for my DBMs (KBS Tour shaft with velvet tour grips) $577 opposed to $425 I have paid thanks to the premium pak, shipping expenses excluded. Frankly I am not sure I would have gone that way and for sure I would have lost the opportunity to own the best irons I have hit so far in my golf journey.

Thanks for your input. After more discussion, we have decided to turn some of the premium paks back on the web, with the added assembly charge for those that want us to assemble. Some of them never did sell that well, so we will eliminate those. We will try an maintain the 2019 pricing as much as possible, but there have been price (cost) increases on some parts. It will take a little time to get all the information edited with the added assembly option (with charges) back in. As far as the amount of the assembly charge, it’s what we have charged for a long time (when we charged for assembly) and I would respectfully disagree that it is a steep price for the service, especially with all the custom options that are included. It is an additional value.
On the shaft tip options in the Custom Shop, I think you meant to say only a .370″ parallel tip option, as there are no .370″ tapered options. You can note in the “Special Note” section that you want .355 taper tip. If there is a difference in price between the parallel and taper tip in a brand, the order will be flagged and we would call to verify. On the KBS Tour, the price is the same.
Everything is still evolving and know that our goal is to offer the best product with the best options for purchasing possible, at fair prices. We will continue to evaluate how we offer our product and hope the options available provide a way for all customer types to experience the premium product (and playability) we offer.

In all fairness my comment was a bit interested, because as soon as I will get rid some iron sets that I have at home, I am planning to get a second set of Maltbys :)
You are right about the tip, I meant that .370 option appears and not .355.
Britt, I have to say thank you for being receptive to the customer base. There was a high level of anxiety on some of the other forums and I got a few PMs with some animated conversations.
I see the custom shop as being a great option for people to really get a special build for themselves. It should prove to be a great tool moving forward.
Maltby has proven over and over recently how a world class product can be offered at a more than reasonable price. In a way it’s not really fair to be putting out product that if it had a Callawy or Taylormade stamp on it… would qualify to be iron of the year any way you looked at it. The new KE4 TC driver head is another product that will shock a lot of people.
