Can the PTM chrome 5,6,7 irons be bent to match lofts of MMB-17 irons to make a PTM 5,6,7 and MMB-17 8,9,PW combo set?
Michael… who said anything about putting a 6 iron on a 7 iron shaft. Take a 6 iron TS-2 and a 6 iron MMB. Build them to correct length. The PTM 6 iron is 3° stronger and will go about as far as a a MMB 5 iron yet be much more playable. Conversely the MMb 6 iron will play in length of yardage like a PTM 7 iron. No need to build any sort of crazy head swapping. Just build to standard lengths.
Good clarification.
Interesting idea. You would run into 2 problems that I see:
1) it’s not recommended to bend clubs more than 2 degrees, so 3 is doable but might ruin the finish.
2) you would create 3 degrees more bounce angle on each club, making them 8, 8, and 9 degrees of bounce, respectively. That’s pretty high for those irons.
