I got about 30 old but valuable graphite shafts in iron heads. Took them to my mate Perci the puller and they wont budge. He is an expert puller and said he has applied as much heat as he dares, but the shaft clamp is giving way instead of the head coming off.
Any tips on what can do to break down the glue to get them pulled?
Its not an option to cut the tip off.
FYI They are the Australian classics, Gerry Hogan AD21, they cost around $400 each in 1990, and were rebirthed as Nventix Nunchuk in 2011. I picked them up as bargains here and there, most people just think they are old junk :-)
if he has applied adequate heat to break down the epoxy, he should be able to pull them with a commercial shaft puller. I homemade jig may not work. An alternative is to stuff a rod (3/32″ if I remember correctly) down the shaft and drive the head off.
