Moving some shafts around. Was going to put some UST Recoil 95 .355 in my old Ping i15 set but the raw tip extends beyond the hosel. The i15s seem to be the last iron they did that did not use ferrules. The Recoil 95 has a raw tip section without the paint/plating that extends to where a ferrule would normally go.
Can part of this raw section be tipped at all to remove it? Does it cause any issues with performance? I would think that’s about 0.5″ so half a hard step if it can. I kind of like how these Recoils look like steel shafts but that bit down there annoys me.
Any thoughts on this?
i had a similar issue, I used a piece of black heat shrink about 5/8″ long, slipped it on before i epoxied. looks good. My shafts were black, but you can get heat shrink in a variety of colors.
