Is the 2.5ft x 8 feet a work bench dimension or is that the total space you have? You will need some moving around space for sure. Assuming you have some space to work in on a bench space that is 2.5ft x 8 ft, you need to look at the gripping tools that we have and determine what you think will fit. There are a lot of ways you can set it up to do re-gripping, but without knowing or seeing exactly the total space you will have, difficult to make specific recommendations. The link to our gripping tools section is below:

A common setup for a smaller space is to have a good Vice on a sturdy workbench and use the GGS gripping station:

That way you can remove it from the vice when not in use. Also, if you decide to do re-shafting, the vice can also be used for the Maltby shaft extractor:

or you can bench mount the Enhanced version:

You can also use the bench or vice alone as a regripping station by using the items in our basic regripping supply kit:
https://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-gripping-re-gripping-kit-gw2025/p/gw2025/
This should give you some things to think about. the kit shows you all the other small hand tools you will need on the regripping side, like the utility knife, grip cleaner, shaft scraper, etc.
