How to choose a shaft flex when shafting a driver.
Tough question. Generally speaking, I base that decision on the other clubs in the bag. Without a 3 wood, or 5 wood, to go on; I’ll begin one flex up from the irons. For example: my irons are regular flex steel and my woods are stiff flex graphite. Another method would be to borrow a few clubs and hit them at the range…taking note of the weight, bend point, tip stiffness, and overall feel.
