When determining shaft mpf, what parameters are measured? I assume frequency at certain points on the shaft with a weight, as well as weight and balance point?
Randy
We measure frequency along four points of the shaft. Weight, designed flex, balance point, bend boint, tip stiffness and torsional stiffness are also used to help determine the MPF for shafts. Obviously there are many other things to consider that can affect the playability of a shaft for any individual, but the MPF can be used as a guide to narrow down the choices, or at least put you in a general category to begin the selection.
