I am a beginner and have played less than 10 rounds of golf in my life, with only 1 in the past couple years (shot 10 over on an easy 9-hole). I want to order a set of TS4s and am undecided on the shaft. I went to a sim the other day to learn about my swing, and I’m at 80mph with the 7iron and it goes ~150yds.

I feel like I’m between R and S flex. When I do hit the ball well, I have a high trajectory, and my natural shot is a slice.

Since I’m at 80mph and hit the ball high, I’m leaning toward DG S200. It feels like they may be hard to adjust to the stiffness to start, but a right choice to grow into assuming i get better and my swing speed increases over the time (I’m 30 y/o). Thoughts?

Dynamic Gold S200 is a low trajectory premium shaft. I don’t doubt that over time, if you practice and develop your game, that your speed will increase, making the DG S200 be a better fit. TS4’s and Dynamic Gold shafts are a good combination, but for where you are now in your game, I would suggest possibly looking at TS3’s and a lighter weight shaft option. TS3’s are a players cavity and a little more forgiving than the TS4’s (although the TS4’s are incredibly stable and forgiving for a blade) and a lighter weight steel shaft will just be easier to swing as you develop. Also, shafts do not have as much to do with trajectory as loft and I would not hesitate to look at mid trajectory type shafts. You might look at the Nippon Pro Modus 115, or the DG MID 115 shafts as alternatives. I would suggest whatever you decide to try just a #7 iron first. That way you can test before you invest in the entire set.
