Depends on the shaft. Is it graphite or steel? If you have the specific brand and model, that would help too? Also, I am assuming is a parallel tip shaft. Can’t trim the tip of taper tips.

Generally, 1″ tip trimming on graphite will increase the stiffness by a full flex. If I wanted the R flex to play a little stiffer I would trim 1/2″ from the tip. You could go 3/4″ if you wanted it to be more like a soft Stiff.
