Still something we are discussing. The problem is that history has not been kind to these “specialty” drivers when they are smaller. Others have tried and they have had a short market life. Still, times are different and I think that a “Fairway/Driver” with the proper loft and weighting combination could be something that would appeal to a broad range of players. However, going to the expense and time to develop a new category of club in the hope that the story can be told well enough (through our channel) to convince players to give it a try is risky, in my opinion. At the end of the day, if we make it from titanium and with weight adjustability, the cost to develop will end with a price that is the same as a driver. If we make it out of HS stainless, it probably would not be big enough and would end up being just a little bigger fairway wood. So, going to need to study on this a bit to see if it’s worth a try. Trust me, I think a lot of players would benefit from a club that is shorter than today’s drivers in playing length, with a design that promotes trajectory for slower swinging players. I do not think there are enough really good players that would take it on because they hit there current “traditional” #3 woods with incredible control, and distance. All that being said, we are still thinking about it and have even started putting some ideas on paper. So, we will see.
