Hi
Fiting kbs Max 80 into TE forged irons.Not sure on what the standard lengths should be.
My dilemma is that eg a modern day 7 iron may have 30* of loft and a standard length of 37in. But the TE 7 iron has a loft of 35*.
So do I marry the length up with the no. of the iron,the loft of the iron ,the weight of the head (270g?) or combo or something else.
Appreciate any thoughts

One thing I would say is that the length should be the length that fits you. If it’s standard, that is fine. The length should be based on the club number. The loft is whatever it is for that particular model. Would not fit the length of the club based on the loft of the club. Head weights are pretty standard and may only vary a few grams. Standard lengths can vary based on steel or graphite shafts and their weights.

see link below for golfworks standard club length chart. length is normally based on weight of the head. taking a look at the maltby heads, most range from 266 – 268 grams ( 7 Irons) your TE is listed as 268 grams (+/- 1 gram)
